Built by industry, for industry. FTSUK is backed and funded by the forest industry to
deliver practical training where it is needed most. We address critical skills gaps,
connect people with the right training, and help build a safe, competent and
productive workforce for the future.
Whether you are looking to build on existing experience or new to forestry, FTSUK provides access to practical, industry-led training that supports professional development and helps you build knowledge, skills and confidence beyond basic qualifications.
Our courses focus on areas where the forestry sector has identified a need for additional training and development opportunities not readily available via existing training provision.
By partnering with FTSUK, you boost operational safety and efficiency, keep pace with evolving environmental regulations, and build a highly skilled, resilient team that drives your business forward.
Partnering with the Forestry Training Service UK offers training providers a strategic gateway to capitalise on the rapidly expanding land-based and forestry sector while bridging the nation’s critical green skills shortage.
By aligning with an industry-recognised body, providers gain immediate access to accredited course frameworks, government funding pipelines like the Forestry and Arboriculture Training Fund, and specialized site access or equipment standards essential for high-risk, practical instruction.

FTSUK operates a hub and spoke model, with the first hub based in Southwest Scotland. This hub acts as a coordinating centre, working with training providers, employers and industry partners to deliver training where it is needed most. Southwest Scotland was chosen for the pilot programmes because of its strong forestry sector, diverse woodland types and access to a wide range of operational sites that provide valuable real-world learning opportunities. As FTSUK develops, the aim is to expand this network of hubs and delivery locations across all four UK nations, improving access to high-quality, industry-led forestry training throughout the UK.
